The outcome to aim for

Separate a monster’s definition from its spawn. Monster.txt defines the creature; MonsterSetBase determines where and how many appear. CustomMonster can override behavior or rewards, and BossHealthBar controls presentation.

Success check: Use a character with fixed equipment for before/after comparison. Check the role that actually owns the boss map.

Before you start

Read the complete procedure and its version notes. Record the affected server role and keep an untouched backup outside scanned data folders.

VISUAL WALKTHROUGH

One step at a time

  1. STEP 1

Find the monster by stable class ID; check the complete header before changing HP, damage, defense or regeneration values. Preserve unrelated columns.

  2. STEP 2

For profile 621, check Move/Profiles/621/Monster.txt as an additional definition source. Do not create a second conflicting definition of an existing ID.

  3. STEP 3

For elemental stats, edit ElementalMonster.xml and the spawn Element assignment together. ElementalMonsterEnable also requires PentagramSystemEnable in Common.ini.

  4. STEP 4

For the large boss bar, edit BossHealthBar Enable and the Boss rule’s Enabled field; Map=-1 applies that rule across maps. Hiding the bar does not stop boss spawning.

  5. STEP 5

Reload monster definitions and the relevant custom group during maintenance, then test ordinary damage, elemental damage, kill reward ownership and respawn.

Apply the real change

Use the load method stated in the steps for this system. Startup-only settings require a planned restart. The reload finder below shows recorded groups; confirm whether the particular field is startup-only.

Find the file’s reload instructions →

Verify the result in game

Use a character with fixed equipment for before/after comparison. Check the role that actually owns the boss map.

If the expected result is missing, restore the backed-up files and repeat the same reload/restart before adding another change.
