The outcome to aim for

Keep a small change record with each customer installation. It makes later troubleshooting and rollback much faster.

Before you start

Read the complete procedure and its version notes. Record the affected server role and keep an untouched backup outside scanned data folders.

ScopeTeaching examples and recorded structures. Application and gameplay must be verified on your deployed version.

Files you need

This chapter is an operating procedure. Its steps identify when to use the related task and file references.

VISUAL WALKTHROUGH

One step at a time

  1. STEP 1

Record date, operator, purpose, affected role, relative filenames, old/new values, backup location and application method.

  2. STEP 2

Record a concrete test: account tier, map, action, expected result and observed result. For rare rewards record the sample size.

  3. STEP 3

Keep this guide, optional presets and live configuration separate. Hand over only the files intended for that customer, with their private connection settings preserved.

  4. STEP 4

After a version or file-format change, review the affected article against the deployed files before applying its examples. Keep the selected map profile and private settings recorded.

Apply the real change

Use the load method stated in the steps for this system. Startup-only settings require a planned restart. The reload finder below shows recorded groups; confirm whether the particular field is startup-only.

Find the file’s reload instructions →

Verify the result in game

If the expected result is missing, restore the backed-up files and repeat the same reload/restart before adding another change.
